Membership of Amol University of Special Modern Technologies in the Union of State Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Sea Region

According to the Public Relations Office of the university, as a result of a purposeful effort to expand international cooperation and enhance the scientific standing of the university within the region, during the 27th General Assembly of the Union of State Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Sea Region, the membership request of Amol University of Special Modern Technologies (AUSMT) in this Union was approved.

Dr. Forouzesh, Director of International Affairs at the university, emphasized the importance of joining the Union of State Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Sea Region, stating that this Union serves as a vital platform for cultural, educational, and research collaboration among its member universities. Membership in this Union enables the organization of joint seminars and educational workshops, the exchange of faculty members and students in scientific and research fields, as well as the sharing of information and publication of joint scientific bulletins. One of the most significant outcomes of such cooperation is the establishment of new academic programs related to the potential and resources of the Caspian Sea among the member universities.

He further noted that membership in this Union is considered a recognition of the university’s scientific and research capabilities. This membership plays a key role in the internationalization of the university, enhancing its academic level and, consequently, increasing the reputation and credibility of Amol University of Special Modern Technologies (AUSMT) both regionally and internationally. It also paves the way for joint research projects in collaboration with the member countries of the Union.

It is noteworthy that the Union of State Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Sea Region was established in 1996 (1375 in the Iranian calendar) with the participation of the presidents of the University of Gilan, the University of Mazandaran, and Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources from Iran; Astrakhan State Technical University, Dagestan State University, and Kalmyk State University from the Russian Federation; Atyrau State University from Kazakhstan; and Baku State University from Azerbaijan. Currently, the Union has 55 members, consisting of universities, science and technology parks, and research institutions.
